We take seriously the call at the end of each liturgy.
“Go forth to love and serve the Lord.”
We do this by doing what we can to love and serve His people.
And so you will find us visiting the homebound, the sick, the dying and those who grieve.
You will find us working with families in planning funerals and assisting after their loss as we are able.
You will find us going to the hospital with someone and being there during surgery so that the doctor has a person to tell how things went, and then conveying that to the individual.
You will find us accompanying folks to immigration interviews or helping them understand the paper work involved.
You may find us calling you….. to help by putting in a starter for a senior parishioner with limited financial resources… to coordinate a funeral reception or provide food…or to make a dish for Clare House residents three to four times a year.
You will find us coordinating and/or sharing information about home repair, weatherization programs, refugee resettlement needs.
You will find us inviting you to assist with the dollars necessary, for example; to provide diapers, bus tokens, rent or utility assistance.
You will find us meeting with and developing partnerships with community agencies, both those we can serve like St. Francis House food pantry, and with those who can serve our parishioners, like the AHFC home repair program.
You will find us researching resources and developing and updating an Outreach Manual so that we are able to give redirection rather than rejection when we are unable to help with a need.
You will find us working with families who are homeless, out of work or in financial need to find necessary resources.
You will find us in intercessory prayer.
