I am in Outreach because this is where I come face to face with the reality of the human condition in all its forms, and it instructs me.

To whom much is given...much will be asked. I feel that Paul & I have been given much...we are happy in our marriage, we have a loving family, we belong to a wonderful, welcoming parish community, we enjoy good health, we have enough income to cover our needs and some of our wants. We feel the need to give back

Our Outreach ministry is a physical manifestation of God's loving presence in our community.
We need to see Christ in everyone we minister to, but, more importantly, they should also see Christ in us.
We are His eyes when we see the needs of others We are His ears when we listen to people's problems We are His feet when we visit the homebound We are His heart when we show love for our neighbors We are His hands when we give food to the poor
Whatever we do, whether a little or a lot, will be magnified many times over by God -- like the loaves and the fishes.

Outreach is a ministry that gives me the opportunity to show love and support for people during vulnerable times in their lives. It is a joy and a privilege for me to serve the people of St. Anthony’s in this way.

I am active in Outreach Ministry because I have been loved by God through the actions of His people.
I have been blessed by those who came before me... those that heard the call to serve, saw my needs and responded, so I never had to knock on a stranger’s door and ask for rent money, transportation when it was -10 degrees or tell a stranger I was in need of a friend or a hug.

And so…it is my desire to share what I have learned along the way, so that others, too, may learn to know and grow in God’s love... I believe we are His hands, eyes, feet, ears, - His love. So I have a personal responsibility as I hear the command at each liturgy to “Go forth to love and serve the Lord,” to go forth to love and serve the Lord in His people.

"Why I serve in the Parish Outreach Ministry."
To learn about all the ways our parish community can help each other in times of need, and to share that information with others.
